Catechism (Faith Formation)

ഇടവകയുടെ ആത്മീയ ഉണർവിന് വിശ്വാസ സത്യം ഏറ്റവും അനിവാര്യമാണ്. ഭാവി തലമുറയെ സമുഹത്തിൽ ഉദാത്ത പൗരന്മാരായി വളർത്തി എടുക്കാൻ വികാരി അച്ചൻ്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ മതബോധന അദ്ധ്യാപകർ നമ്മുടെ ഇടവകയിൽ കൂട്ടായി പരിശ്രമിക്കുന്നു.

കൊച്ചച്ചന്മാർ, സന്യാസിനികൾ, ആത്മായർ ഇവരുടെ സ്നേഹ നിർഭരമായ പരിശീലനം ഇടവകയുടെ ആത്മീയ ഉണർവിനും പുരോഗതിക്കും കാരണമായി വർത്തിക്കുന്നു.

മതപഠനത്തിലൂടെയുള്ള വിശ്വാസ പരിശീലന കൈമാറ്റം അവരിലൂടെ ഇടവകയിലെ വരും തലമുറയ്ക്ക്പകർന്നു കിട്ടുന്നു. അൻപതോളം വരുന്ന ഈ മതബോധന അദ്ധ്യാപക കൂട്ടായ്മയുടെ പ്രധാന അദ്ധ്യാപകയായി സി. ആൽഫി SABS സേവനം ചെയ്യുന്നു

ഇടവകയുടെ എല്ലാ സംരഭങ്ങളിലും ഇവരുടെ ഇടപെടൽ അനിവാര്യമാണ്. സംരഭങ്ങളുടെ വിജയത്തിന് ഇവർ മികച്ച നേതൃത്വം നൽകിവരുന്നു.

Catechism classes are conducted throughout the year on Sundays to equip childrens outline and  principal tenents of their Christian faith. The vicar of the forane church is the patron of Sunday School. Asst.Vicar is the backbone of the Catechism department, along with him, a team of 32 teachers and 7 assistant teachers are actively participating in the catechism training class.

Holy mass starts at 8:45 am, and the students gather at church from 8:30 onwards. Before Holy mass, the selected students from each divisions will introduces saints of the week, giving a detailed explanation about their life. Nearly 1000 students are attending the catechism class in 32 divisions and division-C is exclusively for English medium students.

Every six months, we conduct orientation classes for parents and students on LP/UP/HS – basis. We have a small library at school, to encourage reading habit for children, in order to get motivations while reading saints’ autobiography. Children are actively participating in annual day competitions, and win prizes at diocese and archdiocese levels.
